Nelson Mullins’ Katz, Hinson to Address Consumer Data at DIG SOUTH Innovation Conference

CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 20, 2017)–Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP attorneys David F. Katz and Elizabeth K. “Bess” Hinson will present “Consumer Data Deep Dive: The Legal and Regulatory Requirements for the Collection, Processing, Sale, Transfer, and Use of Consumer Data in the US and How it Impacts Your Business” during the DIG SOUTH Innovation Conference (ICON) in Charleston, S.C. April 25-27.

Mr. Katz is a partner in the Atlanta office where he leads the Privacy and Information Security Practice Group, a team of professionals collectively familiar with U.S. and global privacy and security regulation, case law, and other standards. He provides legal advice on matters related to the privacy laws affecting multiple sectors of the economy. His corporate practice includes providing privacy and security due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions. He represents clients at all stages of incident response from investigation, notification, remediation, and defense of litigation and regulatory inquiry.

Ms. Hinson is an associate in the Columbia, S.C. office where she practices in the Privacy and Information Security Practice Group. She provides legal advice on matters related to privacy laws affecting multiple sectors of the economy. She represents clients at all stages of incident response and regularly counsels clients on cross-border data flows and navigating conflicts between foreign privacy laws and U.S. compliance obligations.
